Get Ahead Project, Glasgow Royal Infirmary Library and eLearning Centre
The Get Ahead project provides literacy and numeracy training to NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde staff on a one-to-one or group basis, using varied resources and learning styles. These sessions are confidential, at the learners request.We provide staff with the opportunity to brush up on reading/writing/ number/ communication skills used every day in and outside of the workplace.(reflective practice, essay writing, taking phone messages, reading instructions, filling out forms, IV Drug Calculations) The service ensures everyone has access to a PDP and encourages a confident, able workforce to better serve the patients. Staff either seek training individually or are referred by their line manager.
Classes are available at the following hospitals: Glasgow Royal Infirmary, Gartnavel General, Stobhill General, Western Infirmary

- There are free staff shuttle buses that run between the four sites, from 8am to 5pm.
