Professional Development Award (PDA) in Dyslexia launched. — 22 Nov 2007

A new Professional Development Award (PDA) in Dyslexia developed by the Dyslexia Working Party was launched this week in Glasgow.

Funded by Learning Connections and with support from SQA this award is designed to provide an accredited route for practitioners working with adults in a variety of learning and workplace settings.

The PDA comprises two higher national units: Dyslexia: Understanding and Supporting Individuals and Dyslexia: Working with Individuals. There are plans to develop a third unit in the future called Dyslexia: Using Assistive Technology. The Dyslexia Working Party has also produced resource packs which can be used by course tyutors to support delivery of the course.
