New LOTIS now live — 09 Nov 2007

The new Learner Outcome Tracker Information System (LOTIS) is now live on the Glasgow's Learning website.

The new system comprises five forms:

  • Learner Registration form identifies learners who agree to future contact. It captures information such as address, date of birth etc. and contains the confidentiality agreement.
  • Equalities Form to generate information on the profile of learners and the impact of services on equalities groups
  • Learner Entry Form to collate profile information.
  • Interim Form to capture short-term outcomes from learners who are likely to leave before completing the programme or an exit form
  • Learner Exit Form to capture longer-term outcomes of the programme

A number of pilots have been taking place across all sectors to get providers' input on the forms. This feedback has helped to shape an effective and efficient data management system which will make things much easier for learners, tutors and other staff involved in the process.

In addition to meeting national and local requirements, the new LOTIS is simpler, more flexible and more accessible. The easiest way to use LOTIS is online, but to ensure flexibility and accessibility, PDF and Word versions of the  forms can be downloaded from the website. Guidance notes on how to use the forms are also available online.

Providers should no longer be using the previous version of LOTIS and any current learners should be registered on the new system.

More training will also be offered to support organisations to use this system appropriately and effectively. Full details of these sessions will be available over the coming weeks.

A LOTIS Information pack has also been developed, which will be offered to all tutors and other relevant staff with responsibility for implementing and managing LOTIS.

If you would like any more information about the new system, please contact Coleen Willoughby, ALN Development Officer on 0141 287 0950 (coleen.willoughby@csglasgow.org) or Anne Kennedy, ALN Communications Officer on 0141 287 8961 (anne.kennedy@csglasgow.org)
