Success for Anniesland College at national awards — 21 Dec 2007
The innovative approach to staff development at Anniesland College to help ALN learners produce a publication has been recognised at a national awards ceremony.
The college was commended in the Professional Development and Enhancement category in the 2007 Scottish Further Education Unit (SFEU) College awards, which were held recently at the Hilton Hotel in Glasgow.
Tutors from the college worked with learners from across the North West of Glasgow to help them produce their own learner publication Educashun, Edyakashin, Education last year.
Although the initial aim of the project was to help the learners. This resulted in the development of new skills and the enhancement of learning and teaching practice.
The college also picked up a number of other awards at the ceremony.
Linda J Mctavish, Principal of Anniesland College said: "The award areas cross the work of the college in dealing with individuals who often suffer from exclusion and our work in this area continues to develop through review and reflection."
