Summerston Childcare Bus Trip Booklet

A group of adult learners and their children from Summerston Childcare recently took part in a tour of Glasgow on the Big Red Tour Bus. The tour was set up as a fun way to promote family learning and show the parents new ways to learn with their children while finding out more about the City they live in.

Before the day of the tour, each parent was asked to research a stop on the bus tour with their child and write a few facts about it. The first stop of the tour was the People's Palace, followed by Kelvingrove Museum, everyone got off the bus at both stops to have a look around. The children (and parents!) were all looking for Billy Connolly's Banana Boots and of course all the amazing stuffed animals in Kelvingrove. Everyone had a great time and at their next learning session, the parents and children produced a booklet with photos, facts about the stops, quotes and drawings from the children involved.

Following the success of this tour, Wyndford Nursery also took part in a similar tour a few weeks later.
