Glasgow ALiS 2020

Learning opportunities for adults in Glasgow to improve their reading, writing and number skills continue to be delivered by a range of organisations and partnerships across the city. Working together to plan, develop and support good quality adult literacy and numeracy services remains a key focus of Glasgow Community Learning Strategy Partnership.

The ALN Summary Report 2010/11 captures the key information on learner numbers and learning hours, the impact of ALN learning on the lives of the learners - including skills development and progression - and the overall investment in ALN services.

The Adult Literacies in Scotland 2020 (ALiS) document details Glasgow's commitments in 2011/12 to achieving the outcomes of this national strategy. These actions were agreed following a consultation exercise involving learners, tutors, support staff and managers and are shaped by Glasgow's strategic ALN learning priorities. It is important that all staff involved in ALN are made aware of these commitments as Glasgow will report progress to the Scottish Government on an annual basis and the Partnership wants to continue involving ALN practitioners in shaping future actions.

The ALiS 2020: Strategic guidance document is also attached for reference.

Any questions or feedback you may have on the annual report or Glasgow's ALiS commitments are most welcome.
